Description / Expertise

Comprehensive 90 piece Art Deco solid silver canteen (registered design number 791141) in very good condition with only some very minor surface scratches commensurate with its age.  This canteen was made in Sheffield 1946 for Bourne & Hollingsworth, one of the leading London retailers of the time.  It was probably ordered to go to America as, in addition to the standard English hallmarks, each piece is marked “925”.  This is quality cutlery that feels very good in the hand.  The service comprises:

Round bowl soup spoons – 12.  Length 17.5 cm

Dessert spoons – 12.  Length 18 cm

Teaspoons – 12.  Length 13.5 cm
