Description / Expertise

Comprehensive Howard pattern solid silver canteen made by the prestigious Mappin & Webb Company.  This is quality cutlery, each piece feels very good in the hand.  It is in very good condition with no wear to the tines of the forks and only some minor scratches commensurate with its age.  This cutlery has no initials or monograms etc nor has it been erased.  The majority of the pieces are hallmarked Sheffield 1940 but the family who owned this canteen added pieces from Mappin & Webb over the years (probably when pieces were lost or stolen.  As you can see from the dimensions everything is beautifully proportioned and sits wonderfully well as a place setting.  The canteen will work very well with the Old English silver knives we also have for sale.
