Description / Expertise

This elegant pair of antique 18th century solid silver lidded sauce tureens were made in the neo-classical style in 1793 by Henry Chawner. This pair are in good condition apart from some slight impact marks in the bottom of the bowls. They were made for an important family and they bear both matching armorials to the bodies and crests to the lids. The armorials have the quotation Patria Cara Carior Libertas.
